Welcome Genevieve
One week ago today, Dana was frantically working on a project in my office. Little did we know that her nesting would lead to her giving birth a few hours later. It's amazing what a difference a week can make in terms of a pregnancy. We are so glad that we did her maternity shoot last weekend.
Genevieve Marion was welcomed into the world on February 26th by Dana and Bob and Genevieve's big sister, Simone. Congratulations to all!
Now, the photos...Dana gets to hear me blabber on and on about how newborns change so quickly and need to be photographed within a few days of birth. She allowed me the privilege of photographing Genevieve this morning at six days old (as if she had any choice in the matter!)
This is one of those shots that I wish I could make the moment stand still for...but life happens. This was unscripted, unprompted and flew by in an instant. As a photographer, there are many things I could pick out that I wish I had done differently...as a Mom, it is the definition of perfection.

One of the first things Dana told me about Genevieve...how long here fingers are. She is bound to be a piano player.
It is rare to get such an alert look from a newborn.

I fought my tiny 5 pound opponent for this shot. She was not interested in being wrapped up at ALL. Finally, I won. The battle was worth it.

The new family. Congratulations and much love to all!!!

Felicia,
The photos that you took of Dana, Bob, Simone and Genevieve (the little ones are our grandchildren) are absolutely precious. So impressed at the close-ups of Genevieve...and how you zero in on all the detail.
You are amazing!!
