RAK Recipients

It's LOVE week and it's time to announce the winners of the RAK photo sessions.  Check back during the week to see the results of these photoshoots!  Congrats to all!

RAK1: The Love Child.

After struggling to get pregnant, my daughter had nine terrible months of pregnancy.  Throwing up was a constant occurrence.  At the end of her pregnancy, she had only gained 7 pounds.  Needless to say, she never felt like she "glowed" or was able to enjoy the months of pregnancy that most women do.  With a very supportive husband, she was still able to find things to laugh about.  Birth was a time of long labor and pushing that caused some large tearing and blood loss. BUT it also was the arrival of Lincoln Wilson Combs.  Sweet little, adorable Lincoln has turned out to be the wonderful little blessing both Amy and Steve hoped for.  He's a charmer and has his mommy and daddy wrapped around his little finger already.  As a first time grandma, I was a little worried how Ceasar (a big English mastiff) and Brodie  (a wild & excitable lab) would adapt since they had been top dogs for their entire life.  Lincoln has certainly proved that top baby takes top dog any day!  This is a wonderful family, with a house filled with fun and laughter.   Lincoln is a love baby for sure ... ....... that is truly loved!"

RAK2: The Love Promise.
(I bent my own rules on this one.  In lieu of an engagement shoot, I'm doing a maternity session for this special couple.)

I have never met this woman or her family personally, but her blog has really inspired me when dealing with the loss of our baby. Her take on infertility and now her pregnancy has made me laugh and cry. Her daughter is due very soon and I think after all the struggling she has been through to have her first child she deserves this more than anyone I know. A time to celebrate the long journey she has been on. She doesn't need to know who I am, heck I don't think she even really "knows" me. All I know is that I am on that journey to TTC and it is a hard emotional one and a little laughter goes a long way. Her name is Jen and her blog is: www.jennepper.com

RAK3: Lasting Love

"I’m nominating my parents for the RAK3 contest. They will have been married for 30 years this coming October 6th and they are an inspiration to all three of us kids. They have been through so much in their lives and have always done so with an open and willing heart. Shortly after they were married they got pregnant with their first child. Dean was born with a heart defect and passed away 5 days later. My parents were devastated but never gave up hope that God had a better plan for them. They then got pregnant with me not too long after and what more could they ask for? My sister came along two years and five days later and we were a perfectly happy family. My mom went to college to receive her associate’s degree as well as her CPA license. She found out she was pregnant with my brother while she was in school but pushed through and managed to graduate summa cum laude with a 6 year old, a 4 year old and a newborn. They have done everything they possibly can to raise us as well-rounded human beings. From coaching softball and soccer to driving us to ballet and football. They are an inspiration in every sense of the word.
