count your blessings

I'd like to interrupt my usual blogging to congratulate a former client of mine...Andy Marks.  Andy was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) in February and received a liver transplant last night.  According to the his blog: supportforandy, he's in good spirits and is in love with his new liver!

I can vividly remember the day I photographed Andy and his wife, Caroline.  We were taking maternity photos of Caroline, who was expecting a little boy.   We were quite the sight as she was very pregnant and so was I.  Nevertheless, I was standing on chairs and rearranging their house to get "the perfect" shot.  Caroline pursuaded to Andy to join in the fun for a few shots at the end of the session.  The images from that day have been in my galleries for a long time as that was such a great session for me.  Caroline and Andy allowed me to capture a remarkable time in their lives.

This is an excerpt from the email Caroline send to all of Andy's friends in June...
"I am making t-shirts in support of my husband.  Having one of these shirts will enter you in Andy's "circle of strength" as he progresses into the next stage of his treatment.  What I'd like is for everyone to keep them handy, and then wear them proudly on the day of Andy's transplant surgery.  Should someone on the street ask what the shirt means, you can tell them about your brave friend, Andy Marks."

Brendon and I are wearing our "Support For Andy" t-shirts today.  Please keep Andy and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
